At NRI Distribution, we are committed to the well being and safety of our employees
As such, we have implemented a safety program to ensure we provide our employees with a safe working environment. Our primary objective is to create a culture of safety at NRI which will help to reduce or eliminate workplace accidents. Our goal is to have an injury and accident free workplace.
To facilitate the achievement of this goal, management is responsible for ensuring that all employees under their direction are made aware of all NRI safety policies, safe work procedures, and requirements. Supervisors are responsible for assessing all accidents and incidents and must take the appropriate corrective action to reduce or eliminate any hazard that may exist.
Finally, the employees of NRI are an integral part of this process and are expected to adhere to all NRI safety policies and safe work practices and procedures as outlined by the NRI Safety Program.
Disability Management
In the event of a workplace injury, suitable action must consistently be taken to allow the employee to return to work as soon as medically possible.
If a work-related injury prevents an employee from performing the essential functions of their position, modified work assignments that are consistent with the individual’s medical restrictions will be offered to the employee whenever possible. In other words, NRI will work with the employee, their physician, and WorkSafe BC to facilitate an early and meaningful return to work for the injured employee whenever possible.
