President & CEO

As a Co-founder, Peter continues to be a leader for the organization.  Peter brings to the business decades of industry knowledge and experience. His passion for the industry and continued leadership, presence and energy he offers on a daily basis contributes to solidifying industry relationships and ensuring long-term client success.

With a strong focus on the values, culture and work life balance NRI promotes, Peter continues to take a community first approach to business, ensuring that the people of NRI are taken care of, that service within the community is a priority and that we grow and create a workplace that people are proud to call home.

Chief Financial Officer

Co-founder and CFO at NRI – With more than 30 years experience in accounting and business, Bruce uses his executive experience and financial acumen to drive growth while maintaining the financial strength and stability of NRI.  Bruce is also the lead architect behind NRI’s WMS system and continues to play a key role in advising its continuous development; consulting regularly with the IT team here at NRI.

Having partnered with President and CEO Peter McKenna for nearly two decades, Bruce considers it a major part of his role to ensure the assets and support teams are in place to execute Peter’s visionary initiatives.

Recognizing the importance of balance in all areas of life, Bruce and his wife reside in Sun Peaks and enjoy blue bird mornings on a regular basis – being “first chair” in the morning for the ascent to the Top of the World. When Bruce isn’t working at NRI he is involved in charities and community development projects; recently having returned from his latest adventure in Africa.

Director of Business Development

As the Director of Business Development, Ryan oversees all aspects of client satisfaction; onboarding of new clients; creation, growth and provision of NRI’s services; developing strategic relationships; marketing, advertising and public relations.

Ryan received his BBA in Marketing from UCC.  During his years of study and for a couple years beyond he designed and manufactured his own small label clothing.  He also spent 5 years in retail, managing a local skate/snow shop, and occasionally worked as a barista during university.  Ryan attempts to spend as much time outdoors as possible, and eek out every second of daylight and holiday time.  Fun times for RDJ include all forms of cycling, tele skiing, rock climbing, back yard slacklining, summit seeking,  backpacking, tent sleeping, long motorcycle trips, cooking, red wine, and travel far from home – most all of the above with his wife and dog.

Business Developer

Working with and under the direction of RDJ, Chris is involved in all aspects of client satisfaction; onboarding of new clients; creation, growth and provision of NRI’s services; developing strategic relationships; marketing, advertising and public relations.

Chris has BSc. Hons and an MBA degree from TRU. He comes from an action sports background in motorsports and enjoys applying his entrepreneurial style to his career at NRI.  He enjoys driving his Subaru WRX and doing anything that’s high speed and can keep his adrenaline pumping.

Director of Operations

Shawn monitors, reviews, reports, plans, and adjusts processes relating to the physical state of warehouse operations for North America.  He is entrusted with handling all operational business here at NRI.  He communicates and works closely with our clients in identifying strategic areas for growth in developing our long term partnerships.

Shawn has a B.Sc. and a background in manufacturing for 12 years and has been with NRI since 2010. He has a young daughter and a lovely wife. He enjoys everything about living in Kamloops and working at NRI all while entertaining a part time modeling career.

Operations Manager – Surrey

The Operations Manager Role is multi-faceted requiring involvement in key areas of the NRI business. Responsibilities cover the day-to-day duties of overseeing the assigned business region through to long-term strategic planning.

Jamie has been with NRI since 2001; he started as a casual employee and worked his way through many areas of the company from operations, customer service, IT, to operations management.  Jamie enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing sports, watching the Canucks lose in the finals and is a Huge MMA fan.  “NRI has been my home for a third of my life and can’t see myself anywhere else.” – Jamie

Operations Manager – Kamloops

The Operations Manager Role is multi-faceted requiring involvement in key areas of the NRI business. Responsibilities cover the day-to-day duties of overseeing the assigned business region through to long-term strategic planning.

Will has been a member of the NRI crew since 1999 and has greatly enjoyed the progression of the company and the personal growth that has accompanied it. Will has found himself in many roles throughout the organization through the years; coming on as a skater kid in the 90’s was a dream come true. Today Will is a proud father of three and still makes time to get out for a skate or go for a shred whenever possible. “NRI ‘TIL I DIE!” – Will.

Industrial Engineer

Erica’s role is primarily to facilitate a continuous improvement culture, through leading and implementing process improvement projects and initiatives that allow NRI to maintain a competitive advantage through cost savings, thus providing our clients a sustainable business partner capable of providing maximum value to their operations.

Erica obtained a Black Belt education in Lean Manufacturing and Sigma-logic Quality Improvement methodologies through service at PPG Industries and holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.  Erica is passionate about any sport that has her ascending or descending mountains – skiing snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing. She also acts as NRI’s group fitness instructor and teaches classes in the NRI fitness center.

Transportation Services Manager

As the Transportation Services Manager, Chris reports to Shawn Needham and is responsible for developing & maintaining NRI’s carrier relationships to ensure clients receive the most competitive rates on shipping. Chris will also look to grow NRI’s freight revenue for inbound and outbound activity.

Chris holds a B.A. and M.A (Land Economics) and comes to NRI after 5 years in the courier industry.  Chris and his wife Tanya moved to Kamloops 5 years ago and love the outdoor lifestyle.  Skiing and boarding in winter, and fishing and camping in the summer. Chris’s perfect Kamloops day is slowly tubing down the river, and next year he even gets to take the water wings off.

WMS & Inventory Advisor

Bryan’s role is twofold, as the WMS Advisor he touches all areas of the company in the support/guidance aspect of using our new Warehouse Management System. In his role as the Inventory Advisor he is more focused on Inventory related functions, managing a team involved in Cycle Counting, Variance investigation, reporting and keeping our Inventory Synced with our clients.

Bryan started working at NRI in the fall of 1998 and worked his way through Operations and IT developing a very in depth understanding of all aspect of the business. Proud father of three and husband to gorgeous wife – Bryan and his kids are avid outdoor enthusiasts and have seen their interests align with the growth of NRI in the action sports, outdoor industry.

Director of Client Services and People Systems

Dean is responsible for all of the people process within the organization, along with all of NRI’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Dean oversees both our Human Resource Department and our Customer Service Team. He plays a vital role in ensuring the values and culture NRI has created over the years continues forward strong and proud.

Dean completed the Human Resources Management program at BCIT.  Upon completion of this, he spent two years working in Vancouver and then moved to Calgary where he worked at a large Window and Door manufacturer with his final role being the HR Manager.  Dean enjoys the outdoors and has fun hiking, fishing and skiing with his wife and two young sons.  Dean is also a Gardener and looks forward to canning and jamming season every year.

IT Manager

As IT Manager with NRI, Brian oversees the developers of our custom WMS system, as well as the B2B department, Testing and UAT areas, Helpdesk, and Network Administration.  This includes monitoring projects, prioritizing activities, and working with Operations, Admin, HR, Sales, and our Clients to ensure all corporate technology is efficient as possible.

Brian is a UBC Commerce grad, and has been with NRI for two years. Previously the IT Manager for a large international manufacturer for 10 years. A family of five keeps him busy, as does year round refereeing in basketball and soccer (the only calls he misses are on his cell phone).  Favorite comment from the crowd while reffing basketball…. ‘FootLocker called and wants their jersey back’.

Accounting Manager

Belinda is the Accounting Manager; she is responsible for the finances and ensures all the ins and outs are dialed and correct. She ensures clients are being taken care of from the finance side of things; reviewing billings and ensuring accuracy.

With years of experience in accounting across several industries from Retail, Mining, Forestry, Construction and now Warehousing, Belinda brings a wealth of experience to the NRI team. For Belinda joining the NRI team has been refreshing from her other jobs, as the lifestyle and work balance is the culture which marries up with her home life style – “work hard + play hard = life is great” – Belinda.
