An NRI (Non-Resident Importer) is a company that does not have a presence in Canada, yet is registered with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) as an importer. As an NRI you may sell your goods to potential purchasers on a landed duty paid and delivered basis inclusive of all costs. This creates a marketing advantage by allowing you to compete evenly with resident companies while retaining your identity.

The registration process for Non-Resident Importer status is very simple. You must file two forms – Canadian Business Number (BN) registration and GST/HST registration. Both of these forms are available from NRI Distribution and we can provide assistance in completing them.
